Who are we?

Atma Connect is a non-profit organization in Puerto Rico, Indonesia and the United States, which works to build community resilience through the growth of citizen networks and agencies. We help residents develop knowledge and solutions and take collective action.

Our projects in Puerto Rico have involved connecting farmers and local residents to build food security, training residents in citizen journalism, digital literacy and women’s leadership, improving water quality and health in Puerto Rico, and building mutual aid response capacity for climate-induced disasters.

Our mobile app, AtmaGo, supports neighbors helping neighbors and provides community leaders and local organizations the ability to document, validate and share the impact they are having in their communities.

This project, Safe Water Quality Network, is financed through the Environmental Protection Agency’s Cooperative Agreement: Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem Solving (EJ CPS).

What is the EJ CPS Program?

The Environmental Justice Problem Solving Cooperative Agreements Program (EJ CPS) provides financial assistance to eligible organizations working to address local environmental or public health issues in their communities. The program helps grantees establish collaborative partnerships with other stakeholders (e.g., local business and industry, local government, healthcare providers, academia, etc.) to develop solutions to community-level environmental or public health problems.
